Responsibilities
This SOP applies to all individuals who are ME Agents or affiliated with House Premium Cannabis. House Premium Cannabis management will update SOP’s as needed per regulation or other mandates. This SOP will be reviewed at a minimum annually.
Procedures
- House Premium Cannabis will maintain Energy Compliance in accordance with the following guidelines
- Identification of potential energy use reduction opportunities (such as natural lighting and energy efficiency measures), and a plan for implementation of such opportunities;
- Consideration of opportunities for renewable energy generation, including, where applicable, submission of building plans showing where energy generators could be placed on the site, and an explanation of why the identified opportunities were not pursued, if applicable;
- Strategies to reduce electric demand (such as lighting schedules, active load management, and energy storage); and
- Engagement with energy efficiency programs offered pursuant to M.G.L. c. 25, § 21, or through municipal lighting plants.
- House Premium Cannabis will use additional best management practices as determined by the Commission, in consultation with the working group established under St. 2017, c. 55, § 78(b), to reduce energy and water usage, engage in energy conservation and mitigate other environmental impacts, and, if requested will provide energy and water usage reporting to the Commission in a form determined by the Commission.
- The Commission may further define these standards, or create reasonable exemptions or modifications, through guidelines issued in consultation with the energy and environmental standards working group established under St. 2017, c. 55, § 78(b). House Premium Cannabis will regularly check for such guidelines and continue to follow the Commission’s standards.
- House Premium Cannabis will be implementing various methods of maintaining state of the art energy efficiency practices, such as installing more efficient equipment (lighting, cooling/heating, and dehumidification systems), to control energy costs and optimize energy performance by developing more comprehensive energy management programs. Energy management includes managing overall energy costs and reducing energy consumption through improved efficiency.
- House Premium Cannabis will be encouraging facility managers and employees to pay more attention to energy consumption, because we recognize it is essential for measuring improvements in energy efficiency over time.
- For indoor operations, LED lighting fixtures are being successfully applied to all rooms, saving up to 50% of the lighting energy compared to the standard practice. For cooling/heating and dehumidification, we are saving energy by using split ductless air conditioning units in place of standard rooftop units.
- We will also take advantage of any relevant energy efficiency programs offered by local utility companies.
- This plan will be evaluated annually to ensure House Premium Cannabis takes advantage of all opportunities for energy efficiency.
